01Telling stories with dignity
The people we work with are partners in our work, not subjects of it. We share their stories to show what is possible — never in a way that takes away their dignity or privacy.
02Consent
- We publish personal stories and photographs of the people we work with only with their informed consent.
- For children, we ask a parent or guardian for consent.
- Anyone can change their mind and ask us to remove their story or photograph.
03Protecting children
We avoid publishing details that could identify where a child lives or studies, such as their full name together with their school or village.
04Illustrative photographs
Some photographs on this website come from other organisations and photographers. They illustrate the themes of our programmes and do not show the people we work with, unless we say so. We credit them below and will replace them with our own photographs as these become available.
- Elderly community: KKSS India
- Village meeting: Aga Khan Foundation / AKDN
- Inclusive learning: Cheshire Homes India, Mumbai
- Village assembly: ICCA Consortium
- Education: Seva Mandir / GlobalGiving
- Women’s workshop: Ruhani Kaur / Shakti Mat
- Digital skills: UN SDG Partnerships
- Community: Cross Roads for Human Development
05Accuracy
Figures, dates and descriptions of our work are published by our team. Where a programme is an aim rather than an activity already under way, we describe it that way.
06Asking for removal
If you appear in a photograph or story on this website and would like it changed or removed, please contact us and we will act on your request promptly.
